Hydr. Valve Control

MicroMag is a current amplifier for proportional directional valves. They were originally developed for the rudder system on submarines, but can be used as a general purpose current amplifier. Two versions are available, MicroMag and MicroMagII.

2.jpgMicroMag accepts input voltage or current signals and converts them into an output current of maximum 1.7A. The design is based on analogue control with current feedback. Pulse width modulation is used to limit the losses.

The compact unit can be placed in a regular solenoid valve connection box.

Two potentiometers are used to adjust the offset and the deadband for the amplifier.

MicroMagII accepts input voltage or current signals and converts them into an output current of maximum 2.5A. The design is based on a microprocessor and the output stage is pulse width modulated to minimise the losses. The switch frequency is adjustable.

Pushbuttons are used to adjust deadband, current step and max current according to the picture below.

In the standard version MicroMagII is working as an accurate linear current amplifier. However the processor based design makes it possible to easily change the function. Any unlinear function such as logarithmical or exponential characteristics could be implemented.
